Received an email from these guys about a new V8 series (FM5), and wondered if it was something we could enter as a team. The link below is for the series, and the Rules and Regs topic has most of the details about the series.

http://www.virtual-motorsports.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=358

One point to note is that the first race is the same day as our Muscle car series.

Yeah, I noticed this as well. Unfortunately, it's on the same day as our series and it "starts" 90 minutes before we do. I say that in quotes because the qually starts 15 minutes after the posted time, and then everyone has to wait about 10 minutes after the qually finishes before they'll know what lobby they'll actually race in. Altogether, it usually take 2 hours or more for leagues like VM and TORA to finish any race. We had our own issues at the end of the KTM series, and that was only for 7 people.

Honestly, had I known a week earlier that they were doing something I would have postponed our current series so we could participate, but they waited until 10 days before their series started to post anything, which is cutting it pretty late, imo.

Hopefully, if we get more of a heads up before I post something, then we can throw more weight behind it. As it stands, I'm just not comfortable with cancelling what we've already started to jump into this V8 Series.

It clashes on pretty much all the dates. Without a drastic schedule shuffle for ours, have to wait till the next one, guessing end of March...

i was looking at VMs series. I have decided to participate in this one mainly due to the car choice. Muscle cars are a bit more fun than the V8 i feel.

Anyone interested?

I think I'll join this series as well. Since I've been amoung the slower drivers in the first two series run here, I'll probably go solo unless you're unable to find anyone to fill the role of 3rd driver. Coincidentally, I already had this Mustang painted:

Clark I dont have any team suggestions atm.  We could represent MSM of course!

Paint looks great Dom...  I will also be among the slower drivers...  If we get more people interested in joining we can do two groups of two or three.

Sounds good, we can just race as "MSM Repsol" as a team name. I will create a new thread in the Member Created Races section so we can discuss tuning and lap times without cluttering up this thread.

I know I haven't been around for a while, but I was reading the Forza news and saw this competition run by VM.

http://www.virtual-motorsports.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=372&t=5463&sid=a0d45c3105552e0a7486800c7b072e1e

It's on FM4, and the top prize is open to UK residents only. I'm going to have a look into it, but don't know if I will make all the races because I'm moving at some point in May.

Hope you're all doing well Wink

There is a FM5 event for hatchbacks on Mondays starting April 20. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to jump in, but if anyone is interested let me know - http://www.virtual-motorsports.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=374

At this moment in my life, I am held to 1 series at a time. Once the Spec series is finished I should be able to commit to another series.

I just do not have the time to run multiples.

The hatch series will overlap the Mustang spec series by two weeks. They will have races on the 21st and 28th of Apr, while the Mustang series runs 24Apr and 1st May as the finale. If you want to jump in late you can do that as well. I'll see if anyone else wants to join as well. Maybe I'll send a msg on XBL.

I could probably manage a two week overlap. Are you tinking of another Team effort?

and when is everyone else going to get Xbone?

My Xbox is making a trip to the Microsoft Technical Support guys, but if I have it back in time think I should be able to do the first 4 races, not sure what's happening after those.

ok, im game.

My $.02, if we run these series, we should run as a team / teams representing MSM as a whole.

The Spec series is working quite well for MSM regardless of where we finish.

I'll run with a team - I can handle the 2 race overlap.
