With most of us being over there at Virtual Motorsports, I have decided to make my maiden voyage over there myself. But instead of doing Touring Car Racing like I did over at TORA, I decided to do something that's a little bit closer to my own heart, Grand Touring Racing.

I have signed up for the Pirtek GT Cup over at Virtual Motorsports, after a good bit of testing last night, I have narrowed it down to the McLaren 12C BMW Z4 as my car of interest, but I am willing to drive either the Mercedes or the Porsche as well. I would say the Corvette, but I drove the ever loving shit out of the Corvette in the GTE series so I kinda need some change.

Update: I got 2 teammates that are willing to team up with me!, God Help them I know, but no they were cool with me coming on the team. They aren't the 2 faster drivers on the grid, in fact one of the guys has had Forza for less than a year, we decided on a car within a day, I was the only one that was debating because I wanted to drive the SLS, but the z4 outshined it on all the tracks except for the Nurburgring, but I doubt I'll be there because of the fact it's this Sunday, which is Easter.

So after deliberating since the beginning on what sponsor we are gonna run, we were originally gonna run  Hertz Car Rental, but after the "leader" of the team backed out and wanted to run a car with his team as the main sponsor, the other guy and myself vehemently disagreed with it because we are 3 guys from 3 different teams and we need to promote all 3 evenly. So after more deliberating and talking, we decided on this.

As a matter of fact yes.

I qualified with a lap time of 1:52:595, despite the 15% power handicap the BMW has that was still my fastest lap of the entire week by about a second, with my previous best being a 1:53:392. The time was fast enough to start 4th in Lobby C in a McLaren-BMW taking 5 of the top 6 spots with 1 Panoz being in 5th.

I had a very solid race, didn't make no contact with people that caused damage but as the race got later and later into the run, especially with 4 laps to go the contact was getting more prevalent. I was never lower than 5th or 6th the entire race even through the cycle of PitStops, I avoided a wreck with about 3-4 laps to go as well to come home with a 3rd place finish.

Overall: I gave myself a B+ for this race, I made 1 huge error going around the first long sweeping right hand corner and I about spun it because I was not letting the back end settle down, and at the time I was running 2nd with about a 500 foot gap lead.

Hey, Snip, did you by any chance save your replay to your SF. Bobbo got his up, apparently, and I was thinking about adding a couple pics to the banner.

No problem, Bobbo got his replay, and really I only need one picture. It's not worth the trouble hunting it down.

VM Pirtek GT Cup: RedBull BMW Motorsports Captur11

Those were my results from Road America, if I am reading this correct, it means that I started 17th and finished 15th.

My car was absolutely terrible, I had little grip with the car and once again I felt like I was on top of the track in the beginning of the run when you had to make up most of your time due to the excessive tire wear, but the one thing I will give my car, is that when the tires warmed up and they got some wear into them I was able to actually get faster and get consistent with my lap times and was able to make up time lost in the beginning of the run.

I made a HUGE mistake and stayed out on old tires early in the race an extra lap and it cost me alot of time, about 3 positions to be exact and 15 seconds to the guy running in front of me, so it was hard to make that back up. So I went a little bit on the aggressive side to make up the spots. I then short pitted with the rest of the guys I was battling with as I felt like me on older tires compared to them on newer tires would be a benefit to me as they would slow down and I would speed up, which would be the case as in the final 10 laps I made my way up from 10th to 5th. Unfortunately one of the guys who was trying to 1 stop the race had 99.9% tire wear on his rear tires and 98% on his front tires, so getting around him was more challenging than getting around a Toyota Aygo with an Audi R18 on a 1 lane track. I eventually got around him, but with his lack of grip and trying to maintain the position he hit me in the quarter panel and got me loose, I almost had the car back under me when he hit me again and this time he sent me into the gravel trap, falling from 5th to nearly 8th, but since my car was really good on used tires I got back to 7th immediately and made up 5 seconds on 6th and 5th in no time(about half a lap), when I got around the guy with no tire wear I was battling with a Corvette that I had battled nearly the entire race, I got to his bumper and braked early into Canada corner whilst he over drove the corner. I got back on the power and flew up on him like he was standing still, and to avoid contact(and a penalty) I let out of the gas and gave him the position, I had a good run on him going up the hill to start/finish, but with a little pinch and a slower car in front of me, I had no choice but to give him the position back. Slightly irritated that I was knocked off when I was clear of both of them going around the Carousel a lap before.

Overall, despite my car being terrible on early runs, I gave myself a B+ for this race. My car was probably the best it's been all series and I was VERY happy with my result. 15th out of 52 cars and beat both my teammates and our "rival" team, was definitely an accomplishment for me

To say I hated last weekend's race was the understatement of my life. Where do I begin?

Qualifying: I ran a 1:24:3, which was literally 1.2 seconds off my actual time 10 mins prior in a test run with my teammate Badger, so I knew going into it that I was gonna have a rough time.

Race: I got into Lobby C, which was where I did not wanna be so I already had a pissed off going to go balls to the wall attitude to make sure I clear everyone and win this lobby because I knew I was faster. So we get to the start time, guy in front of me jumps, he hits the brakes, i hit the brakes to avoid him, I lose 3 positions off the bat. I hung the car wide because I knew I would pick them off 1 by 1, boy was I wrong, while yes I did get back up to the 5th position where I started and despite me being better than everyone else in the corners, down the straightaway it was like I had a parachute because I would lose so much time to the guy in front of me and to the guy behind me.

Then lap 32, was driving my own race, on the final corner before the back stretch, got wheel spin, hit the rumble strip. Spin, smash, crash.

seems like same for us running the Stock hatch series. Both Dom and myself made costly mistakes on the final laps of Atlanta short, giving up our positions....

Unfortunately, due to illness this week, and being busy for the next 4-6 Sundays, I will no longer be able to partake in the VM Pirtek GT Cup series as I will not have the time to do it, it's tough for me to end it so prematurely but it's what I gotta do with the wedding coming up, me not being home for the Holiday next weekend and feeling like absolute death as of this post.

Plus more importantly, I realized that Yesterday(Saturday) was exactly 1 month to my wedding and I gotta get all of that finalized, plus then I got to try and get a house, and get the rest of my things planned out. I am hoping to get an Xbone by the time September hits so I can join you guys on FM5. So this may have been my very last time racing on Forza 4.

Sorry guys, I kinda feel like I let the team down Sad
