Interest in SPEC MIATA
Re: SPEC MIATA
Been running a few laps at Maple Valley, Running 48's... I am going t use this time to learn how to use the clutch on the controller to see if I can shave some time off.

Re: SPEC MIATA
Good idea viper, really the more time you can spend on the track the more you will learn and find. Also have you re mapped the clutch to the A button, makes it much easier.

Re: SPEC MIATA
I aint practised at all. Need to practise at Sebring, Motegi and Silverstone for the WEC and GT500

=) My biggest problem is when I go to correct a little bobble I go too far with the controller and end up upsetting the car more... I will remap, saves me the effort to learn to throttle and brake with my index finger.
Been through this all before when I was playing Live For Speed and practicing for my league events. I was putting in 1000 laps or more in practice each month. I just cannot transfer the stuff I learned on a wheel to the controller very well =(.... I used a clutch for this too.
Can understand BLM =)

Re: SPEC MIATA
Is there any chance you could get the circuits and layouts updated to the op, i get bored of hot lapping at the same track and will often move onto the next one early.

Re: SPEC MIATA
To Viper : Driving with my index was tough for me too so I drive Gran Turismo Style...
Gaz and Brake on the right analog and shift down with LB and shift up with RB. The clutch is LT but this have an incovenient, you can't move your head left or right when racing if you don't have the kinect.

Thanks Clark i wanted to keep the feel of it being a track car and not a race car, so thats why it looks a bit bare and has the taped number board

Bored of my red & white coca-cola's colors so there is my 3rd color, the black one...

Re: SPEC MIATA
=)
Can I make a sugjestion for the tracks? It would probably be better for the slower guys, like me, if we ran on the short tracks instead of the full length. While for the fast guys it might be a bit boring, for the guys trying to learn setups and how to push the car smaller tracks are better since there is more repitition.

Re: SPEC MIATA
Ran a couple laps tonight, done 12 hours work today, bit knackered and trying to use the clutch for the first time... didn't make for any blistering laps to say the least! Will try some more tomorrow night

Re: SPEC MIATA
I'm sorry guys, I thought I had posted the number of laps for Maple Valley. My bad!
It will be the full course for 15 laps.

Re: SPEC MIATA
=) Put a few more laps in, 51.6 I'm down to, tried without using the clutch, a shaved enough to put a time up, but I still ran a 51.69 while using the clutch. I am messing up the brake points though, forgetting to blip the throttle when I downshift, for messing up the shift entirely by not shifting...

Re: SPEC MIATA
Bobbo and I put in a 5 lap race tonight and I managed a 1:51.9. I think the tires could stand to use more PSI to heat up faster, but there ya go.

I hope I make it to the race on time. Kinda left the car parked over at my uncles yard for a few months now, so might need to get it cranked up again. I just managed to print up all the logos and stuff from the internet and taped it to my car too, si should be set to go.

Re: SPEC MIATA
As I'm building the car now, with a 51% front weight balance, the required spring rates seem very unbalanced (they are set up for a 68% front weight car). Not sure if it's meant that way, but it's not helping the car that much.

I like =)
Ran a few more laps tonight, managing with the clutch a bit better. Managed a 1:50.9 I know I'm good for more, not very consistent though...
