VW Scirocco R Cup
VW Scirocco R Cup
[Only admins are allowed to see this image]
Following the very succesful Classic Muscle Car series, I would like to introduce you to the VW Scirocco R Cup. This is a real championship, meant as an entry level cup for young drivers to start a career in touring/gt racing. As a spec series with very little tuning options, it all comes down to the driver's skill and talent to outclass the competition. It is a VW sponsored championship, and unsurprisingly the majority of its races are held in Germany, with Hockenheim visited twice (it's usually a support race of the DTM). In total, there are 8 races of about 50 km each.
I attempted to recreate the series in Forza as good as possible. There is a mandatory car build, which can be found in the spoilers below. The real series features a car with 210 kW and 1210 kg + driver, we end up with 209 kW and 1241 kg. We'll have the same tire width, slicks, and rollcage as in reality. The rims are the closest match to the real ones as well. In the real series, the only tuning can be done to the tire pressure and front ARB. In our case, we only add adjustable aero to that short list (due to cosmetic issues). Conserning the races, we'll also do 8 tracks, but with 2 per weekend it will only last for 4 weeks. Driving distance will be set so it's just over 60 km, which is a little more than the real life series as those span only 20 minutes per race. Just like in the real series, there will be no pitstops.
Damage will be set to limited.
No assist limitations.

Car Build:
- Spoiler:
There is only one car allowed, which is the VW Scirocco R (not the GT!). It is the free car download of the November Speed pack, so even though it's dlc everyone is able to get it for free.
Total PI: 556
Engine upgrades: race exhaust
Platform upgrades: sport brakes, sport springs and dampers, race front ARB, sport rear ARB, race rollcage, sport weight reduction
Drivetrain upgrades: sport clutch, race driveline
Tire upgrades: race tire compound, Motegi racing SP10 rims
Aero upgrades: VW race front bumper (far right, adjustable), VW race rear wing (far right, adjustable), VW street hood
If it's not mentioned, it stays stock. Done correctly this should give you a PI of 556, with adjustable tire pressure, front ARB and f+r downforce. On demand I will send this build to you, you only have to ask for it.
Livery requirements:
- Spoiler:
In order to resemble the look of the real series, several mandatory sponsors apply. Therefor, I have made a template of the car livery that will be sent around to everyone participating. These sponsors should remain in place, there is plenty of space on the sides and the hood to personalise your car. You can also change the car's color of course, and also those of the small sponsors (H&R, Sachs) in order to make them stand out of your car's color. Don't forget to change the number and name too, or else I'll be the one scoring all the points

Nice to see some interest! I've added a few pictures along with the explanation where to get the car. It is the free download of the November Speed pack, so even though it's dlc, everyone can get it for free.

I have serious sad panda face that they won't sell the Scirocco in the US, in any form. Anyway, I should be available.

For your entertainment, a bit of racing action of this series. Seems like we'll have to be careful on the kerbs again with these cars.
Oh, and Bubba, is that a yes or no?

Livery templates and car builds were sent to everyone who inscribed, apart from Hugo who has to accept my friend request first. It's nice to see this amount of interest, thank you all!

Small bump to push this above the calendar entries and back into visibility, for anyone who missed it. Everyone who inscribed has been delivered a build and livery now.

The more I see of this series, the more I think Forza based their kerb behaviour on it.
