October F - R1 Meet-up

While the VW Scirocco series winds down, I thought it might be a good opportunity to open up our garages a little and let some of our unloved cars get a little fresh air.

Usually, we just start in F class and work our way up into R1. Each race is usually about 5-10 laps, depending on the tracks. You're welcome to use any car, and tune, and paint, whatever your heart desires.

I'll get the lobby open on Sunday - October 7 at about 8:00 GMT (4:00 PM EST - 09:00 PM BST). you're welcome to join and drop out at any time. I'll keep the lobby open to friends on my list.

was alot of fun, wish we ran these alittle more often, gives us all a chance to try out cars at different classes against one another.

Had a great time (did on Saturday as well). The lower classes lets me give some of my fwd/awd cars a run. There was some really good racing and I'm glad to be back (feels like I've been away for ages), great stuff. Agree with Ret, we should do this more often

I wish we could do this more often too. Perhaps it could replace the exhibition races sometimes.

Do people like that u get to try out different cars they wouldnt normally race or is it because since the races are spontaneous we all have a kinda level playing field?

For me it's more about the time spent racing. I don't get to play much during the week and when I finally get to sit down and race at the weekend, it's all over in 40 minutes or so. And then everyone leaves and I'm left sitting there thinking I want to keep racing.

for me theres a few reasons why it works, it feels less competitive and more friendly which leads onto being able to run in cars that wouldn't get to see the light of day. Also having quite a few shorter races means people are free to come and go as they please.

With more people in the Saturday races, and many of them participating at an early afternoon time for them, it will be more likely that some will stick around for post-series festivities. On Friday nights it's not unusual to have a lobby with 4 or so people going for another hour. I hope we can keep that up for Saturday as well.

Will this be going on this coming Sunday, October 14th as well?

I have a car in B class I'd love to work with a little and use.

I wouldn't mind hosting a lobby for it this Sunday if no one else wants to.

My connection isn't good enough for hosting. I tried it once and half the field had disappeared by the time the race had finished. So, if you want to do the honors nelicquele, I'll be there.

We must be due another endurance race soon aswell.

Any more news on this? i know Dom said he is busy today and can't make it but a few others were keen on hosting a lobby. Maybe we could get something going.
