Ok! Last one for today... Added a white skirt, some shadow behind the logo and a final tear at the rear. That almost it for my design...still need #board and secondary logos.

Maybe i'll put back to yokomo logo on the wheel arch like previous pic cause the Cwest take too much attention in my opinion...i'll see later. As you see, i now have bumper crack...lolol Still number to craft and put it on the hood too + front + rear to do.. But not today!

New comp new wip!

Here is what i've done last night!



As you can see i go for the Labatts M3 and it's almost done! I just need to tweak the blue color, add the right rims, add a number board, do the Labatts logo and the "Please dont drink & drive" and i'm ready to go. I plan to put that car in my storefront cause after looking the Market i discovered that no one have done it right yet...

So Labatt's done, color tweak, rims tweaked....Now that big lettering. I'll try to do a simple tutorial when making it to show people how to do that easily

Live's Lettering 101 class!

I though it will be cool to show how I make easy lettering job on paint for others to learn some trick. Lettering is not like doing logo, it's a technic in itself and to be able to paint nice thing you have to master this.

#1 Step : Find a custom font to use as a base. Some lettering have to be done from scratch but MOST OF THEM have a in-game font base in it.

For my BMW the classic in-game font will do :


This is helping me for the placement of all thoses letters and this way i can notice easily that my letter are too "tall" compared to the original.

So Step 2 will be the "general resizing" that mean you dont really care about the shape but you care about the size and skew if needed you make them here. Always resize ALL letter to the SAME parameters.

For the BMW i had to keep the same widht but less height :


Step 3 : Tweaking shape! That's the fun part for me...some others may dont like that. That's here you gonna make those letter look like the real thing. One by one, you'll have to had or remove part on the in-game font letter to make it like a custom one. When i first start to paint i was doing this in the create vinyl aera but now i got enough practice to make them straght on the car wich save me a lot of time.

In that picture, the orange is the "adder" that mean i'll put it blue to "add" parts to the letter. The green is the "remover" that mean i'll put it white like the background to remove things on the letter.

Now just do that for every letters. That may seem long but a lot of letters are doubled or trippled (like the "D") so once you make the first one you replace the other one. That ensure you they are exact and you wont loose time.

Also, always find a good source picture and bigger the better for that source picture. For that car i found this for the lettering and it will help me a lot.



I know it's the base of painting but i though that could help some peoples. I'll post the final sentence with all the green and orange vinyl to show you later

Thanks Ret! I had to make the Labatts all from scratch with squares, rounds and half-cirlce cause this is a pretty uncommon font it was simple for me to go that way.

Back to the lesson

After patching all letters you should have something like that :
(note that the use of colors is only for showing, when i work i use blue and white directly so it's easier to see what i'm doing)



After putting back the right colors the magic should appear on that form!

A little bit of round 3 wip!




I like the result now up to the design!

So at the base the idea is to put this Artwork on it (the orange) :



So i've done the base design first:



After this i added the splash i wanted to do since the beginning and i tweaked the bands colors to fit. I put them purple cause we are required to do so... The black marker is were the artworked orange will go. I also added some carbon fiber on the front.



I hope you'll like it the result will depend on how i'll be manage to do that artwork. I've done the logo and design without loosing any time so i'll have more time to work on that orange.

uh... I've done this in 20min. and i was not expecting this so i post it!

Artwork make me use new in-game shape that i didnt use before. That orange is far from finished but i love were i'm going and i think i discoverd a new side of painting right now!

Yesterday I had my first experience with a cheater and i was so impress about turn10 staff i tough it could be fun to share that story with you guys lol

Yesterday i received a message from an unknown person asking me to sell him my No Fear paint unlocked for a couple of millions. I answered with a simple "No Thanks" then the guys message me back telling he dont care cause he can unlock it himself... Second later another message telling me to look his storefront and bang! My paint is there with my name on the back (he didnt change a thing on the paint).

Then I answer him "Do you know Dragnet? He know you now!" So i sent a message to Dragnet and explain him the situation. Hopefully he was online so he can look at it as soon he received my message.

To make it short, 5 minute after putting my paint on his storefront all his item was under review... 20 minute later he was perma ban from turn10.

I sent a message to the guy to know how he feel right now and i still waiting his answer... loooooooooooooooooooooool

Congrat Turn10 for this seriously it was fast and effective!
