Interest in SPEC MIATA
Re: SPEC MIATA
Because Badboy had put so much weight on his car, he just can't fly like Bobbo...

Re: SPEC MIATA
It was a close race between me and Bobbo with some great action taking place on the tight right hander near the end so, I'm going to indulge myself with a commentary...
After the first few laps I thought I had no chance of overtaking Bobbo, who had a great start to nip into 3rd. There was so little in it for the first half of the race, you'd have had trouble getting a Rizla between us for most of it.

A slight hiccup near the end of lap 7, at the aforementioned corner, and Bobbo lost some traction to give me just enough to get in front by the time we were hitting the uphill section.

Now it was his turn to put the pressure on me for the next 4 laps.

I was nearly half a second up on my fastest lap and had managed to actually get some daylight between us (not much, but enough to make me think I was reasonably safe), when, on the same hairpin, I went and drifted all the way through and the ground was lost.

We were neck and neck heading for the line when I went and missed a gear change giving Bobbo the edge going into the penultimate lap. I was shaking my head in disbelief, this was intense!

Another lap of sticking to his tail and having to endure some light-hearted banter (I think the giddy meter hit 10), we were coming to the same corner that we'd both messed up earlier. When I saw he was going for the inside line, I knew it was literally "Last Chance Saloon" time.

Figuring this would take him to the outside on the exit (near to the wall), I took a wider entry to try and get the power down a touch earlier on exit and move into the space he would leave to his right hand side.

It was working like a dream but, sensing the danger, Bobbo attempts to stop my maneuver by closing the gap...

But it was too late! I dart through to take a hard fought, well earned 3rd with MY giddy meter going off the scale

Awesome battle which almost deserved two winners. Almost...
Great race Bobbo, looking forward to next time and your chance for payback.

Wasn't the weight of the car, it was all the pies I ate.

Re: SPEC MIATA
Sorry for the delay guys, I haven't had the opportunity to view the replay yet to ensure the the 2nd race standings will stand.
Had to get ready for job interviews for today and I should have it all done by tomorrow.
BLMThug, have you sent me the replay yet?

Re: SPEC MIATA
Was reasonably happy with my quali time but in the race proper, I had some, er, distractions. Fiddling with the mute button all the time does not make for good times. Guess I've blown it for a good final standing

I might have done better if that was the case Even though I keep telling her, she forgets that with my headphones on, you lot can hear her much better than me.

Re: SPEC MIATA
I think the times for Sebring are out somewhere, I was right on Angel's tail at the end but the positions seem OK though? The lag spoiled it a bit for me, there were a few cars jumping around like fleas. During 1 overtake, just as I drew level, the damn thing thing shot forward about 4-5 car lengths. An epic finish, a la infineon, was not to be.

Re: SPEC MIATA
I forgot to add the replay to my SF last night, but I'll have it up later today for any curious onlookers. We had a pretty interesting battle for 2nd between me, Clark, and Killa. I qualified 4th behind them both, but we were able to stay within a couple hundred feet for about half the race. Between the three of us, I think I was able to run the most consistent line and found a way to squeak by them both. I ran my fastest clean lap of the week during the race. Amazingly, first and second place were the same in all four events.
