MAZDA MX-5 CUP SERIES

Recently I watched the Mazda Cup Race at Laguna Seca on the tube and the race was close all the time and it looked pretty decent and fun. So my idea is to have a mock MX-5 Cup series with three races. The specifications are strict and therefore should make for some good close racing. This is how I want to do it:

Now, this is my idea of what could be some good, close, fun racing. However, I DO NOT want to host this series because I’m am no good with organizing things, plain and simple. So ill set up a poll, simple YES if you’re interested (say yes!) and NO if you’re not. Hopefully with enough yes’ we can kick the series off.

**theres seems to be good interest in this so I`d like to kick off things A.S.A.P. that said, i have a busy schedule for the next couple of days but once i figure something out ill post it and ill also be hosting i suppose. cheers!

just a side note, i drove the car around laguna a couple times and it pretty fun to drive. i know its not an A or S class monster but with enough ppl i think it would be decent racing.

Question. Will there be any specifics for a paint for this? Like a numberboard, required logo, etc.? Also I built mine to your specs without rims and im at a A523 with every stat correct except I have 6.9 vs your 7.0 accel.

No specifics for paint, however i will be making a number plate which will have to be put on both sides of car. this can be downloaded off my storefront or sent to you once i have made it. and ur right about the car class. i goofed up. as far as the accel difference. try putting on the Wattanabe rims, those are the ones i have, might give you that .1 point.

No date Scheduled as of yet, i dont wanna interfere with any MSM events. I'll figure something out soon

Never even noticed this. personally, i think my specs will add up to some better racing. and obviously theres interest in it. also the car used will be the 07 MX-5 and also the car is A class. go ahead and build a car to my specs and ull see that itll most likely be some decent racing for sure

I see its been done b4 and again, i had no idea. wasnt a member when that happened. i'm actually trying to duplicate the Playboy mazda MX-5 Cup series, with my own touch. as of days and time, no idea yet.

It was successful, good turnout and good racing. Some people may think it's a bit soon but I'd be up for it.

OK! so just to let everybody know Ive updated the outline (spoilers) for the Playboy MX-5 Cup Series. so far we have eight (confirmed racers including myself: DeadTaco, IFAMILYGUY11, xVampirAx, Bobbo (possibly), B4D BOY69, Live4xTc, and Littleevil00. I`d like to get at least 4-5 more ppl for sure before I get a racing calender set-up for this. so come on people!

If this is a race that can be run on Friday nights deal me in.

I mean the tuning limits REALLY suck but oh well.

Tuning limits are the best part, its gunna be a race of driver skill and not tuning skill

OK fellow racers, there seems to be some decent response to kick off this series. SO, by getting things underway I'd like to do things a little differently then usual. instead of setting my own dates and times, i want to get peoples input for race days and times. due to my shedule days available for me to host will be THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SUNDAY (days least likely for booty calls). all times are eastern time. times available to host are (depending on day) 1:00pm through to 9:30 pm. Now, this is open for YOU to decide. I know this will not cater to everbody so instead of just picking anytime i want and anyday, i hope to get more of a turn out doing this.

SO PLEASE, if u plan on racing in this event, then post which day(s) and time(s) would be good for you and that way ill come to a decision of final race dates and times. **important: ANY race day that conflicts with MSM standard events will be POST-PONED to a later date

Sidenote: any updates about rules/tracks/cars will be posted on the FIRST page in the original post. however, after the series has begun, there will be NO change to rules/tracks/cars/times etc.

sundays prolly the only day i would be able to compete in. definately sounds like fun and i missed the other mazda series so this would be fun

I would recommend Sunday, and generally an earlier start time North American works better because of the time difference to Europe.
