Below is the bracket, which is based on a standard 16 man tournament, putting the potential top 2 seeds into the finale (if they survive). I will open a new thread when Round 1 begins, which is on September 2. On that date you will have 48 hours to post your shot in that thread and send your match-up the PM.

FYI - please look carefully at the bracket, because the names can look stacked and might be confusing who is matched with whom. Just look at where the lines meet.

Here are the bare bones of what should be included in your shot:

- Indicate the car type used (ie. spec build, stock car, PI Limit, brand, etc)
- Environment and track (ie. Catalunya Grand Prix vs. Catalunya National)

After that's it's up to you. Don't be afraid to be creative. You can indicate a P2P track, perhaps a standing start only lap, or cars with a max horsepower. Please do not use elements that cannot be easily verified via telemetry, such as car weight.

Post any question about the rules in this thread. This is the first tournament we've held like this, and so there might be a bump or two along the road. I'll try to make reasonable corrections along the way.

After the first round, I will take the drivers who were eliminated and put them into a consolation bracket, where they will be reseeded by the same tier ranking and get a second chance for fame and fortune*. Think of the first group of survivors as the Champions League, and the second bracket as the UEFA Cup.

FINALLY... how about a prediction game? Anyone can do this, including those not participating. Take a look at that bracket above and fill out the remainder of who you think will win every round through the finale and post it in this thread. For each round you get correct you'll score 1 point in round 1, 2 points in round 2, 4 points in round 3, and 8 points in round 4. The winner of the prediction game will earn themselves a cool 2 million forza credits.

So the lower seed of the match up "calls the shots"?

1. Forcing on assists would be very difficult to verify via telemetry. I think you might be able to see TCS, STM, and ABS.

2. The lower seed would be the one calling the shot each round.

Had some tight racing with Hugo recently so I expect our round to be fairly close. The reward is a probable round 2 against Bubba (no disrespect Evil, but you and LS have your work cut out ). Fujimi Kaido IN reverse, anyone?

Edit, the predictions, to save time I'll just use seed numbers.
Round 2: 1, 9 (very close I think, went for the "chooser", 5, 4, 2, 7 (had to), 3, 6.
Round 3: 1, 4, 2, 3.
Round 4: 1, 2.
Final: This is a toughie. I expect Bubba will go for something in S class and that may be enough to edge it. 2

All in all, only 2 deviations from the seedings (both of which are due to the lower seed having the choice, so I could well be wrong), which shows the tier system's working well.

Can't wait to get started, if I make it past Round 1, as the lowest seeded top tier driver, expect me to be breaking out my R1 class Acura.....a lot.

I have a question about the rules, is there any way to prove that racer B is using the parts on his car that racer A declared at the start of the round?

make them send the tunes to someone to have them check telemetry

Assuming I can beat Bobbo, and I do mean assuming, coz I have my weaknesses, well one....I don't stand a chance in hell of beating Snip in round 2, no matter how creative I get. As Ret said, he could put a wheelbarrow on the leaderboard. Still going to be fun though.

Prediction:
The match-up between Bobbo and Rippd is a really interesting one, in my opinion. They are the closest two seeds, afterall. I've seen Ripped set some blistering times, but Bobbo can be a crafty little git and he's the one calling the shot that round. If it's not Road America, I'll be shocked.

I think Duck is seeded lower than he probably should be, and could upset the applecart before it's all said and done. I'm glad to be on the opposite side from him. He could almost make a Villanova-like run to the end.

Badboy is another person I'm glad to be away from. He has the unfortunate task of taking on Bubba in round 2. Good luck, son.

I throughly look forward to attempting to f**k up everyone's predictions for Round 2. Also thought I'd try and leave myself a 2 million Cr incentive to win, although I'm mighty confident once I can get into my R1 Acura that I can kill some giants.

The lower seed may determine if the challenge will be a flying lap (multiple laps) or one single standing lap. If it's a standing lap, you will need a replay to verify, of course. With a flying lap you might be able to use the leaderbaord, unless there are other factors to prevent that from working.

Ok so let me see if I understand this correctly. Player 1 is the shot caller, this is my shot, and here is my time. Player 2 then goes out and beats that time with-in an hour or so. Can Player 1 then go back and try to best that time of player 2 or is it over right there?

There will be a start and end date for each round. The two participants will continue attempting to set their best time until that date arrives. It's basically like the Bounty Hunter challenges T10 puts together, except now YOU (as the lower seed) get to decide the challenge.

people should not be fooled into thinking people that can be beaten in certain types of races can be beaten in a hot lap. With enough practice at the same single lap in the same car it doesnt matter if its something your not used to because if you have the skill to go fast youll eventually get it to work with anything.

When there is generally a significant gap between drivers, I think you're right, Bubba. Some of the participants are not separated by much talent-wise though, and it's possible that setting up a challenge to cater to a strength or weakness would be enough to close that gap.

One addendum to the rules, which I will add to the OP as well:

5. If the low seed posts an "any car, any tune challenge" then please verify the first 10 cars on the overall leaderboard is not a DLC car. If it is a DLC car, both drivers must have access, otherwise it is not a valid challenge.

And anyone with snippy in their gamertag must drive using kinect
