BTCC Taster Series
Well after talking with certain members I've surmised that there is definitely enough interest for at least a taster series for a BTCC style championship. I'll be running some taster sessions midweek starting next week and I'll be looking for people to host a US friendly lobby as well. The races won't be weekend or Friday to avoid clashes with official team meets. Below is the list of cars, rules and regulations which, may change based on what happens in the taster sessions. There will be no cars added to the car list that aren't already on there and I am happy to state reasons why certain cars are excluded if anyone wishes to know. Cars may be removed or have restrictions placed on them based on what we find out during these races.
Car List:
The majority of the cars available are hatchbacks or saloons, the few coupes that are eligible have ether ran in the actual championship or would be eligible based on S2000 or BTC rules.
Rules and Regulations:
Points and Lobby System:
Lobbies will run in the same way as MSM official meets, with results being placed together to form the final standings based on finish time. The top 10 drivers will score championship points.
Session Dates:
Sessions will be split into 2 lobbies as per MSM norm with a lobby for each main time zone.
Lobby 1 = Opens 8:30pm GMT, qualifying will be run (3 laps/ghost cars) before the first race. Second race is reverse standings from Race 1.
Lobby 1 = Opens 8:30pm EST, qualifying will be run (3 laps/ghost cars) before the first race. Second race is reverse standings from Race 1.
This is still a work in progress so please check back for more info, cheers for your patience

Re: BTCC Taster Series
Interested, provided I don't have to work when the races are scheduled. I'll be driving a Volvo or Seat most likely.
Othelion- Race Number : 23
Re: BTCC Taster Series
Veinzer, I should be okay, Part of the challenge of racing in the championship is picking the right car. It led to mayhem last time
Also there are some changes to the Car rules I forgot to put in earlier, noting to major but please read through guys.

Re: BTCC Taster Series
Didn't suffer any issues last time, but that was FM3 so you do have a point.
An opinion on possible ways to even things up would be nice, so feel free to do some testing me and send me a PM with what you find and what you feel would be appropriate action.
Also in terms of a track run at Silverstone National (the middle sized one) as it'll definitely be on the calender.

Re: BTCC Taster Series
Updates - The 2010 Audi S4 in now ineligible due to it not meeting the supercharger/turbo requirements.
The points system is now live and I'll announce lobby times this evening.
The entry list will go live tomorrow but there is some testing still left to do before it can be posted.

Re: BTCC Taster Series

Trashskills wrote:ill either be in my mugen integra or a mugen civic.
Just so you know the Mugen Integra isn't eligible and only the Mugen Civic Type-R 3D is eligible out of the available civics. This is because I am unable to test for equality and I can't see wether they're eligible anyway with them being Unicorn cars.
Re: BTCC Taster Series
I was going to use the Alfa but the engine is 3.2 liters, and with the HP cap + RWD swap I can't bring it all the way up to A600 PI.
There is no RWD conversion for the Bora either.
Edit: also built a BMW 135i tune and did a couple of laps of Silverstone and ran a 1:29.764

Re: BTCC Taster Series
Dropped the Ball on that one, Sorry :S
I've updated the Car list with the relevant changes.
Also remember guys, If you choose a car that can't achieve Maximum PI within the rules it's still allowed, but it's your decision as to whether you want to run a car that isn't full PI.

Re: BTCC Taster Series
Based on some testing I ran last night there may be the possibility of a power handicap for RWD cars, please check back for more info.
