Pretty much finished one. Pictures are on an earlier post. Debating whether the simplistic characters are good, or if they need something else, like a pagoda in the background. Also, there's a nice blank space that we could use for a main sponsor. I've got EXOCET done, but its not very Japanese. Could finish my Hello Panda logo off thoRetPetty wrote:You working on our team design consult?

Got everything in order on VM, just waiting for the paintjob and for Long Beach to come and go. I think the Supra is the best car overall and we'll be fighting the top VM guys with it, if they don't pick it themselves. That'd be some shit, a grid full of Supras.

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
There's a whole gaggle of CQR members that recently signed up, and in all likelihood they'll run the same car together. I've seen them race on TORA before and some of them are legit top 25 leaderboard drivers. If they're all in the Supra, then it's big trouble in little China, but at least we'll be in the right car, eh?
In most series I find myself somewhere just above the middle of the total group. Since there are nearly 70 people signed up for this series so far, I suspect that I'll personally be near the bottom of lobby 2 for most events.
For those who weren't at the test session last night, the car does suffer a tiny bit of understeer, and 5th gear is probably a tad too long for the front stretch. I would recommend adding more aero to the front above stock, and shorten that 5th gear a little. Most of my test times hovered in the 1:03.4 range, while Becoll was consistently hitting 1:30.2. Becoll said he shared his tune, but if you're struggling with that, perhaps one of us can post our build here so it can be tweaked to your liking.

I like the cars in this series. I will not participate due to my army reserves training. Takeing up all of August. If they decide to do a series 2 I'm up for that. The supras a great car. I feel that the RX-7 would of been a great choice too. However with the tracks with many straights would have suffered I bet. You can make them rotaries always turn high with shorter gears and thos cars fly if you can keep the revs up.

Has anyone got a working build for the supra, mine keeps gravitating towards the barriers, so got something wrong somewhere

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
Becoll shared his build a few days ago. When I get on tonight I'll post my complete tune here so that you can see how I have mine set and maybe adjust to your preferences.
Also, it looks like there are some privateers racing on their own here, and even if you're in different cars, it might be fun to team up and see how far up the team standings you can get. The only challenge might be getting the same livery onto different cars.

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
I've copied the vm logos, so I could do a race car design, don't need to practice for the first race because I'll miss it, can design another car if people want. I can post up vm numbered cars.

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
Just for giggles I thought I would peruse the LB to see what B class cars I could spot with times set. Finding times with the Z4 would be almost impossible because it's rated so low in A class. Anyway, you'll see that some heavy hitters have posted stupid fast times in a handful of different cars. You'll also see some repeats mainly because teammates are in the same car. These guys would have been fast in anything. This is just the tip of the iceberg, as there are a handful of guys, like Craviator and Shinobi, that I'm sure are in this range and will make the Lobby 1 a stupid fast race. Realistically, I think Lobby 3 might be the best most of us can achieve in this series.

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
My VM number is 372 and seeing as the cars aren't locked in once used, until qualifying, I may use the fastest car for each circuit. Once I stop myself playing Destiny, I may turn towards that route to have maximum performance for each track. Unless I read the rules wrong?

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
Ok, I'll get the design up for you when I get in. Same as Retpetty, either search for my GT, or Becoll 372.
That's an interesting point. I've re-read the rules and it states, "once you have qualified with a car, you are locked to that car for the race". No mention of series, or races...

I asked for clarification from the admin, and you are only permitted to use one car for the series. It appears that bit was copied over in error from the VM Challenge series.

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
well thats good to know, cause overall the Supra is beast and the speed tracks will be a walk in the park. I'll download the design and keep tuning for Long Beach. All thats left to do now is buy a new controller, my Day One is shot to hell.

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
i tried a few other cars and although i felt the supra was good i didn't feel totally in control yet cant beat the time i set in any other car, lol, how does that work?
the brz and r33 were the next best for me but only tested on long beach so far.
