Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
There are some FWD and AWD cars that might be a hair better than the Supra at Long Beach. but when we get to Rd America, Rd, Atlanta, Sebring, and Nurb you may see the difference in the acceleration and top speed the Supra offers. I've shared my Long beach tune today, so you can grab that and give it another go. I would say the #1 thing to be careful of is your throttle control on your turn exit with this car.

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
RSR WOZ WILD has posted his Supra tune on the VM forum. Now I am under no illusion that this will be optimised completely, but it'll be good to see where there cars are at, and might give us something to think about...

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
i used woz tune on mine, feels grippy but acceleration is so slow, hit my best time round long beach in it but just didn't feel racey, still prob gonna go with the brz due to its top speed as its fastest car supposedly, lol, although not when i drive it.
i liked the bmw m1 too oh i just cannot decide, lol
someone pick a car for me,lol

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
I think if you do the math you'll find the BRZ does not have a great power:weight ratio, which keeps it from being the fastest in a drag race or coming out of the turns. As we've often said around these parts, if a car feel too comfortable to drive, then it's probably too slow. The Supra does have some handling niggles that can be a challenge to throw around Long Beach, but going forward this car will scream down the straights at Road America and Sebring. The BMW 1M is also a good option, as is the Z4, but both of those are slightly heavier by 300 lbs.
The added benefit is that we'll be discussing the tune for the Supra from week to week on this forum, so as we make small changes in aero and gearing for each track, you'll be able to hear about here instead of hoping someone shares their tune from VM.
Don't let Long Beach dictate your car selection, as there are 7 more tracks on the list and none of them have a layout like the first race.

Paint looks good, I usually paint a car a nice shade of blue and black out the rims and call it a day. Being as a design is required I'm glad you have the skill to use the paint editor and cared to do it. If you hadn't done the paint, I'd be scratching my head and yelling at the walls.....I hate painting. I'll give'r a look and see you on race day.

FYI: The rules have been changed regarding the exit on turn 7 to allow cars to go wide of the red lines.

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
So looking it over, these are the teams right now we have going into the race on Sunday.
MSM Motegi Racing: CallMehDarkside, Dominic Mako and x DeadTaco x(?)
MSM (Samurai/Yakuza/Katana?): RetPetty, CallMehBacon(Becoll), and Consult.
MSM (New Guys): RagingxDiamon and JD896.
Would you guys wanna schedule another test session sometime before Sunday? I would say either Thursday or Saturday night.
I still don't know anything about Taco showing up or not, he rejected my party invite last night and won't answer my texts or facebook messages....

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
Becoll managed 1:29.7, Ret 1:29.8, and I hit 1:29.9. Those are personal bests though, as most of our laps over the long haul average in the low 1:30.0 to 1:30.4.

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
Yeah, we're not counting on Taco for points, he is just our fill-in #3 driver. It would be nice if he showed for at least two races, but we won't be left hanging the way Skismo was in the hatchback series.

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
From the Test Session we had, this is what we got.
Becoll: 1:29:7
Dominic Mako: 1:29:8
RetPetty:1:29:8
CallMehDarkside:1:39:9
So all of us are really close on times, however Dom, Bacon and Ret are a little bit more consistent than I am as my lap range was 1:30:3 to 1:30:7
Becoll: 1:29:7
Dominic Mako: 1:29:8
RetPetty:1:29:8

Both sound good, Samuri is probably better by a nats whisker.

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
If you're going with MSM Samurai, one of you could probably post int he Sign Up thread that the details of your three teammates will be changed to that. I think only one of you need to post it for all three gamertags.

Whatever team name you go with is fine, just wanna let everyone know my tune for Long Beach is fast. I'm putting down consistent 1:29:500, have done 29:200 in testing so imma share it if you wanna try it. It'll be the only shared tune on the search. My leaderboard time is a 29:4-- I think.

Re: FM5 VM Super Taikyu Series 1
How far through is this series any chance of a late join up? guessing it's B class and from the list of cars at the beginning of the thread?
